Extra ''bone'' was detected in axial sections in right side posteriorly during routine control thoracic CT imaging for gastrointestinal stromal tumour. The CT images are examined in coronal sections. Coronal images and MIP images demonstrate that there is an accessory rib joint at the 6th and 7th ribs posteriorly.

Case Discussion

The radiologist may misinterpret this appearance as callus formation or extra rib. In such lesions, at least one more section should be examined.
