Dilatation of the visualised distal part of oesophagus with barium stasis and distal tapering at the lower oesophageal sphincter and narrowing at the gastro-oesophageal junction with characteristic appearances of bird beak sign or rat-tail sign.
Case Discussion
Typical appearance of achalasia with bird beak sign in barium swallow. The patient had multiple attempts of balloon dilatation but there was little improvement. The patient was referred for laparoscopic myotomy.
