Left-sided Achilles tendon shows altered signal intensity about 5.7 cm above its insertion with a complete tear of the visualized fibers which is more clearly visible on T2 weighted images.
Marked surrounding edema is also appreciated.
Complementary ultrasound (not shown) also confirmed a left Achilles tendon tear.
Case Discussion
MRI findings especially on T2 weighted images and complementary ultrasound features are of a left-sided Achilles tendon complete tear.
The patient was operated on for repair and confirmed complete tear of the tendon surgically.
