Achilles tendon rupture with retracted ends of its torn fibers, with a fluid-filled gap that measures about 4.5 cm.
Abnormal intrasubstance increased fluid signal along with deltoid ligament deep part and anterior talofibular ligament related to ligament sprain.
Case Discussion
This case well demonstrates a complete traumatic rupture of the Achilles tendon, type III (complete rupture with a tendinous gap of 3 to 6 cm) according to the Kuwada classification of Achilles tendon tears.
