Right ankle pain after twisting while playing soccer.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male
ultrasound

High-grade near-complete tear of the Achilles tendon approximately 6 cm from the calcaneal insertion, with mild retraction and interspersed intratendinous foci of calcification. This insertional Achilles enthesopathy with fluid distention of the retrocalcaneal bursa.

Mild subcutaneous edema of the posterior soft tissue.

Case Discussion

This represents a case of an Achilles tendon rupture.

The patient underwent surgical repair and required frequent follow-up with orthopedic surgery.
