Acute pain and difficulty with plantar flexion.

Age: Adult

Selected images demonstrating an Achilles tendon tear, atypically located just above its insertion rather than at the critical zone, usually approximately 5cm above its insertion. Plantaris remains intact, as is often the case when it is present.
