Presentation

Acute onset of pain in the distal rear right leg during a soccer game. The patient reports feeling like he has been shot, kicked, or cut in the back of the leg.

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

Full-thickness tear of the Achilles tendon with tendinous gap <3 cm.

Achilles tendon lesions have a typical clinical presentation and are easily and quickly assessed by ultrasound.
