Presentation

History of twisting injury of the knee.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male
Modality: MRI

These images demonstrate the primary and secondary signs of an ACL tear.

Case Discussion

The primary sign is non visualization of the intact ligament, secondary signs help when confirmation is required.

The most useful secondary signs are anterior tibial trans-location and uncovering of the posterior horn of lateral meniscus.
