Acoustic schwannoma

The main symptoms in our patient are tinnitus and left ear pain.

Patient Data

Age: 47
Gender: Male

Left pontocerebellar corner, a mass with a lateral shift in the brainstem, associated with the cranial nerve 8, extending into the inner ear (intercanalicular extension).  The appearance is like that of an ice-cream.  It is 15x20 mm size, heterogeneous with significant contrast enhancement.  

Case Discussion

The only finding as objective in the case was hearing loss in the left ear at audiometry. Other neurological examinations were normal.
