Acquired tracheobronchomalacia

Patient Data

Age: 75 years
Gender: Male

CT obtained both in inspiration and expiration demonstrate a dilated trachea on inspiratory films. During expiration, there is marked reduction in AP diameter of the intrathoracic trachea, with the cross-section assuming a crescent shape.

Findings are consistent with acquired tracheobronchomalacia and tracheobronchomegaly.
