Presentation

Acute right lower quadrant abdominal pain, fever.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male

CT abdomen & pelvis

CT of the abdomen and pelvis demonstrates ascending retrocecal appendix position. Appendix has thickened and enhancing wall. Stranding of adjacent fat without fluid collection or free air.

Two simple cyst of left kidney noted.

Case Discussion

Clinical symptoms and CT findings are consistent with diagnosis of acute appendicitis. No complications (such as perforation, abscess formation etc) performed.
