Presentation
Abdominal pain for three days, vomiting and constipation.
Patient Data
At level of the right iliac fossa there is a blind-ending tubular structure with an anteroposterior diameter of up to 11 mm, wall up to 3 mm. It shows little vascularity with Color Doppler. It is aperistaltic, non-compressible, and there is tenderness with palpation. There is associated increased echogenicity of the adjacent and a small amount of adjacent edema.
In the first image, the white arrow indicates the free fluid and the orange arrow indicates the thickness of the wall of the tubular structure.
In the second image, the white arrow shows the proximal end of the appendix and the orange arrow shows the distal end of the appendix.
