A blind-ending non-compressible tubular structure with mural vascularity and significant surrounding inflammatory changes was noted in the right iliac fossa suggesting acute appendicitis. A tubular hypoechoic structure with parallel echogenic lines is seen within the lumen of the appendix may represent an Ascaris worm.
The features are consistent with acute appendicitis, and appearances suggest the presence of an Ascaris worm.
