An appendicolith is identified in the appendix S with a free-fluid around it . A thickened wall of appendix is noted . The diameter is 6.5 mm with adjacent fat echogenicity.
Case Discussion
An appendicolith is a calcified deposit within the appendix, and suggestive of appendicitis, we should image in three planes sagittal ,transverse and oblique (oriented perpendicular to the iliac vessels)
An appendicolith gives an acoustic shadow on ultrasound.
