Acute bacterial tonsillitis

Fever, pain on swallowing,swollen tonsils, white pus-filled spots on the tonsils.

Patient Data

Age: 20
Gender: Female

CT neck

Accented volume increased of both palatine tonsils with  hyperemia of the mucosa,  unidentified categorically any  collections in their thickness. Multiple reactive lymphadenopathy, some with heterogeneous enhancement in cervical groups II and V. Pharyngealmucosal space, retropharyngeal, parapharyngeal, submandibular and masticatory tomographic unaltered.

Case Discussion

CT through the neck reveals enlarged palatine tonsils with a serpentine enhancement pattern characteristic of uncomplicated tonsillitis, from infolding of mucosa into the tonsillar crypts.
