Well defined, dense calcific focus adjacent to the medial femoral condyle.
Surrounding soft tissue swelling.
Case Discussion
Presented as acute focal pain but no trauma.
Very tender focally.
Gout is a differential but the dense calcification and the lack of periarticular erosions favor acute calcific periarthritis due to hydroxyapatite deposition disease.
