Acute cerebral infarct

Presentation

Middle aged man presented with right side weakness and slurred speech.

Patient Data

Age: 49 years
Gender: Male
Modality: CT

The left middle cerebral artery appears hyperdense. There is ill defined hypodense region noted involving the left insular cortex with loss of gray and white matter interface. There loss of delineation of the basal ganglia suggestive of disappearing basal ganglia sign.

Hyperdense MCA, loss of insular ribbon and disappearing basal ganglia signs are suggestive of acute cerebral infarct.
