Acute cholecystitis

The gallbladder is distended up to 58 mm, accompanied by wall thickening and surrounding fat stranding. A 12 mm stone is noted in the gallbladder neck.
Case Discussion
Features on CT scan are typical for acute cholecystitis due to the gallbladder neck stone.
Main CT findings include :
- cholelithiasis: gallstones isodense to bile will be missed on CT
- gallbladder distension
- gallbladder wall thickening
- mural or mucosal hyperenhancement
- pericholecystic fluid and inflammatory fat stranding
