Presentation

Head trauma four hours ago.

Patient Data

Age: 8 years
Gender: Female
ct

Acute epidural hematoma along the anterior aspect of the left frontal lobe with a maximum thickness of 14 mm.

Diastatic fracture of the left coronal suture.

No intraparenchymal hematoma.

Case Discussion

Acute epidural hematomas are usually traumatic in origin and are most often caused by tear of the middle meningeal artery.
