Acute hepatitis

The gallbladder is collapsed and shows diffuse striking wall edema with no evidence of cholelithiasis.
No evidence of biliary obstruction.
There are multiple enlarged lymph nodes seen at the porta hepatis.
Case Discussion
Diffuse gallbladder wall edema in the absence of cholelithiasis in a patient complaining of abdominal pain and jaundice should raise the possibility of acute hepatitis.
The laboratory findings in this patient were raised liver functions and positive hepatitis A markers.
