Chronic alcoholic with acute headache and disorientation

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female

ASNR 2016: This case was submitted as part of the American Society of Neuroradiology (ASNR 2016) Case Of The Day competition, in collaboration with Radiopaedia.org. 

There is focal low T1 and high T2/FLAIR signal with restricted diffusion in the splenium of the corpus callosum. There is no associated mass effect.

Case Discussion

The patient was treated with intravenous vitamin B complex, with complete resolution of her symptoms over the course of several weeks.
