Presentation
Trauma: fall 10 feet.
Patient Data
Age: 65 years
Gender: Male
From the case:
Acute mesenteric hematoma with active bleeding
Axial C+ portal venous phase

CT shows a mesenteric hematoma with a small central hyperdense focus ("blush") representing active bleeding. This blush probably comes from the ileocolic branch of the superior mesenteric artery. There is also a small hemoperitoneum. The small bowel is normal. No fracture or laceration are seen.
Case Discussion
The patient was unstable with immediate transfer to the operating theater where the hematoma with active bleeding was confirmed. The small bowel was intact and not resected.
