Presentation

Middle aged patient with acute right sided hemiplegia, which commenced 10 hours previously.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male

Diffuse low attenuation in the left temporal and parietal lobes, with sparing of the basal ganglia.

The M2 and M3 segments of the left middle cerebral artery are hyperdense with the cerebral dot sign in the left Sylvian fissure.

No hemorrhage.
