Case contributed by Dr Ian Bickle

Patient Data

Age: 60
Gender: Female

Diffuse low attenuation with sulcal effacement in the territory of the left middle cerebral artery.  No midline shift.

Hyperdense left MCA from the M2 segment origin.

No haemorrhagic transformation.

Case Discussion

The territory of the middle cerebral artery is well illustrated with this 'complete' MCA territory infarct.

The frequently associated hyperdense artery sign indicative of intra-arterial clot is also evident.
