Acute myelitis

Presentation

Fever and paraparesis.

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Female
MRI

Diffuse long segment hyperintense signal lesion is seen on the T2W images in the spinal cord from medulla to conus medullaris. It involves the more than 2/3rd circumference of the cervico-dorsal spinal cord. The spinal cord appear bulky in size and predominantly bulky from C2 to T3 vertebral levels.  After administration of contrast there is heterogeneous patchy long segment enhancement of the spinal cord from C3 to T5 vertebral levels with internal non-enhancing component.
