The pancreas is enlarged at the proximal portion and shows inhomogeneous enhancement, accompanied by peripancreatic fat stranding and a small amount of fluid,
A small amount of sludge is present in the dependent portion of the gallbladder.
Cardiomegaly is present in imaged portions of the lower thorax, accompanied by mild pericardial effusion. In addition, subtle pleural effusion is noted bilaterally.
The prostate gland is enlarged.
Case Discussion
Pancreatic enlargement with areas of non/hetero-enhancement and surrounding inflammatory changes with a small fluid accumulation are compatible with acute necrotizing pancreatitis, and follow up is needed.
