Acute non complicated appendicitis

Presentation

Diffuse abdominal pain, right iliac fossa rebound, elevated WBC’S.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years.
Gender: Male

The appendix is seen retro-cecal in a location in the right lumbar region coursing posterior superiorly, shows marked increased caliber measures about 13 mm in its maximum diameter with a thickened edematous well-enhanced wall, associated with marked stranding/ smudging of the surrounding fat planes and mild thickening of lateroconal fascia on the right side with an adjacent minimal amount of fluid collection extends to the right paracolic gutter.

Captured photos during the laparoscopic appendectomy proved the diagnosis of acute appendicitis.
