Acute-on-chronic pancreatitis

The pancreas shows multiple parenchymal minute calcifications, multiple variable-sized stones involving the proximal main pancreatic duct and its side branches with subsequent moderate ductal dilatation.
Marked blurring of the peripancreatic fat planes with associated left retroperitoneal and lesser sac fluid.
Distal CBD multiple calculi with no evidence of significant upstream hepatic biliary dilatation.
Case Discussion
Here is a case of acute on top of chronic pancreatitis, the patient presented acutely with severe epigastric pain, the laboratory assessment revealed high serum lipase and leukocytosis.
