Acute pancreatitis

Abdominal pain.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Male

The pancreas head and proximal of body are prominent and accompanied by surrounding fat stranding.
A few non-enhanced simple cortical cysts are seen at both kidneys, with maximum diameters of 28mm. 
Degenerative changes as osteophytosis are seen at the lumbar spine.

Case Discussion

Findings are compatible with acute pancreatitis confirmed biochemically with markedly elevated lipase.
