Presentation
Low back pain.
Patient Data
Abnormal Subchondral bone marrow signal involves both surfaces of the sacroiliac joint and displays low signal on T1 and high signal on T2WI and fat-suppressed images denote ongoing acute inflammatory process (osteitis). Similar bone marrow signal changes are demonstrated at the symphysis pubis. Preserved joint space of both ligamentous and synovial parts of the joints. No subchondral sclerosis or cystic changes. Normal shape and signal intensities of the muscles attachments. No enthesitis. A simple cyst of the right ovary measures 28 x 35 mm.
Case Discussion
MRI findings are consistent with bilateral acute sacroiliitis and symphysis pubis osteitis.
