Acute sinusitis

Presentation

Cough and cold since 3 days. Mild low-grade fever.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male
ct

Sinus CT shows a fluid level in the left maxillary sinus. Left sided deviated nasal septum. A rhinolith is in right ethmoid air cells.

Case Discussion

A fluid level represents acute inflammatory changes, although in this case, there is an irregular fluid level, and a rhinolith, which may suggest acute-on-chronic changes.
