Case Discussion

This child was admitted to the hospital due to the seizure and worrisome acute subdural hematoma. By 36 hours the subdural hematoma was no longer visible. The child remained seizure free and was discharged on day 3. Six months later he was noted to be developing normally.

Although rare, there are case reports of acute subdural hematomas that are no longer visible within hours or days. It is suggested that the hematoma redistributes along the brain/spine axis.
