Acute tubular necrosis

Patient went coronary angiogram 9 hours prior.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male

The kidneys have a mottled appearance containing multiple areas of high density striations.

Case Discussion

Bilateral 'striated nephrogram'  was the salient finding. Differential diagnosis:

Final diagnosis: Acute tubular necrosis. Striated nephrogram, in this case, depicts contrast material trapped in necrosed tubules.
