Patient Data

Gender: Female

Dilated, thick-walled appendix with appendicolith near the tip. Periappendiceal stranding/inflammation. Small ascites. 

Case Discussion

Typical findings of acute appendicitis, confirmed by laparoscopic appendectomy: "the appendix was markedly thickened and inflamed, making it difficult to distinguish the mesoappendix from the appendix itself."
