Presentation

Lower abdominal pain.

Patient Data

Age: 30
Gender: Female

Fluid-filled, dilated retrocecal appendix with small fecaliths and hyperemic wall. Periappendiceal inflammation. No organized fluid collections. Small amount of free pelvic fluid. 

Case Discussion

Classic case of acute uncomplicated appendicitis, with dilated appendix, fecaliths, and periappendiceal inflammation. Surgical management is indicated.
