Presented with signs and symptoms of CNS infection.

Patient Data

Age: 1 year
Gender: Male

Non-contrast images demonstrate significant dilatation of lateral ventricles with marked periventricular hypodensities.

Contrast enhanced sections demonstrate thin regular enhancement of the ependymal lining of the ventricles

Case Discussion

Ventriculitis refers to inflammation, usually due to infection, of the ependymal lining of the cerebral ventricles
