Adenomatoid tumor of the testicular tunica

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Pea-like mass on the lower pole of the testis. The initial US was normal. Focused ultrasound performed over the mass lesion.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

Small solid (minimally vascular) mass sitting outside the testis in the tunica.  The patient was concerned about the lesion, so it was excised.

Case Discussion

Tunica mass lesions are rare and include:

  • adenomatoid tumors
  • fibrous pseudotumor posttrauma
  • mesothelioma

Adenomatoid tumors are benign and usually occur in the epididymis but may also be seen in the tunica vaginalis.
