Presentation

Prolonged menstrual bleeding with cramps and pelvic pain.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female
Modality: MRI

A poorly defined heterogenous lesion is seen in posterior myometrium, appearing hypointense on T2W images.

Case Discussion

Intramural nodular mass lesion in posterior myometrium.

Differential diagnosis

Final diagnosis

Adenomyoma of the posterior wall of the uterus, with an incidental ovarian cyst on the left.
