Adenomyosis and endometriotic cysts

Age: 40 years

RVF uterus is measuring (9x6x5.8cm). It shows diffusely thickened junctional zone (2.2 cm) with associated few tiny cysts, reflecting diffuse adenomyosis.

Bilateral two ovarian cysts, measuring 6.2 cm on the right side "with bi-lobed configuration" and 0.6 cm on the left side. Both displaying T1 hyperintense signal not suppressed on fat sat Sequences with T2 shading, reflecting bilateral endometriotic cysts.  

Case Discussion

The uterus shows features of diffuse type adenomyosis. Bilateral endometriotic cysts are noted, larger is biloculated on the right side with T2 shading sign, and T2 dark spot sign.
