Adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder)

Presentation

4 months history of painful right shoulder with restricted range of motion.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female
  • hyperintensity on PD fat sat with thickening and enhancement of the inferior glenohumeral ligament

  • obliteration of the fat triangle between the coracohumeral ligament superiorly, coracoid process /coracobrachialis anterosuperiorly and glenohumeral joint capsule posteroinferiorly "subcoracoid triangle sign", well-demonstrated on sagittal sequences

  • thickening with enhancement of the joint capsule

  • soft tissue thickening within the rotator interval

  • thickening with enhancement of the subacromial bursa with mild effusion

  • thickening of the coracohumeral ligament with supraspinatus tendinopathy
