Adult polycystic kidney disease

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Premature hypertension with renal impairment. Need renal MRI to review for renovascular hypertension.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

Both kidneys are grossly enlarged measuring more than 20 cm. 

The kidneys are completely replaced with innumerable cysts. No meaningful renal cortical tissue. A small number of the cysts have variable signal within in keeping with haemorrhage.

Both kidneys have a dual arterial supply. No stenosis.

Innumerable cysts in the liver. Normal pancreas.
