Advanced cervical spine spondylosis

Presentation

Severe neck pain.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Female

Degenerative changes are seen as endplate irregularity and sclerosis, disk space narrowing and osteophytosis in the cervical spine.

Grade I spondyloretrolisthesis of C2 on C3 and grade I spondylolisthesis of C3 on C4 are observed.

Normal lordosis of the cervical spine is reversed, and mild scoliosis with rightward convexity is evident.  

Case Discussion

Features on x-ray are compatible with advanced degenerative changes (i.e. spondylosis) of the cervical spine in a 70-year-old patient with severe neck pain.
