Technique: Volumetric axial images have been obtained through the paranasal sinus with posterior multiplanar reformation.
Findings: There are sinus expansion and a complete opacification of the left frontal sinus that shows to be hyperdense centrally and with a peripheral rim of hypodense mucosa. It also extends through the frontoethmoidal recess to the left anterior ethmoid cells. Small mucous retention cysts on the floor of the right maxillary sinus. The remainder exam is unremarkable.
The features showed on this study are in keeping with a chronic fungal sinusitis.
