MRI

Pelvis

Study with extensive artifacts of movement, for the reasons mentioned above.

Gonads in the inguinal canals.

The urethra is of feminine characteristics, and it extends through the "phallus" (it can not be cited neither as a penis nor as a clitoris), inside which cavernous bodies and urethra are observed.

Genital lips are reminiscent of female labia, whose content is exclusively fatty. The gonads (histopathologically documented as ovaries), do not show signs of malignancy (a common feature in this type of structures).

MRI

Annotated images

The colored structures are the phallus (green, light red), the inguinal gonads (light blue) and the feminine urethra (dark red).

Case Discussion

A case with ambiguous genitalia. The following features are observed:

  • the inguinal gonads were surgically removed, and the histopathological analysis documents ovarian tissue
  • the phallus that contains cavernous bodies and urethra
  • upper genital lips of exclusively fat content, in concomitance with the absence of the vagina
