ct

CT through the maxilla obtained with contrast demonstrates a cystic lesion displacing the roots of the second incisor and canine on the left. The bone is thinned and expanded. Posteroinferiorly an enhancing mural nodule is noted.

Case Discussion

This appearance is typical of an ameloblastoma despite the atypical location. This was histologically confirmed.

Histology

Unicystic ameloblastoma: mural variant (poorer prognosis than unicystic luminal variant, but better than multicystic ameloblastoma).
