Presentation

ct

An expansile, lytic, multi-loculated soap bubble-like mandibular lesion that appears mildly enhancing post-contrast. It is associated with thinning and expansion of the cortical bone including both buccal and lingual cortices. It erodes the roots of adjacent teeth, extending from the middle incisor to the 2nd left molar, causing blunting of the dental roots.

Right maxillary sinus mucosal thickening. Air-fluid level and polypoid mucosal thickening in the left maxillary sinus.

Case Discussion

CT features suggest left mandibular ameloblastoma, with partial involvement of tooth roots as described.

It was biopsy-proven and the scan assessed the extent and severity of the disease.

The management plan was resection due to the involvement of all left-side teeth roots, as it has a high local recurrence rate.
