Amoebic enterocolitis with liver abscess

There is a large abscess in the left lobe of the liver.
Diffuse circumferential intestinal wall thickening noted involving the terminal ileum, cecum and the ascending colon with surrounding fat stranding.
Moderate amount of free fluid within the peritoneum.
Bilateral mild pleural effusion with basal atelectasis.
Case Discussion
The stool smear report of this case confirms the presence of amoebic cysts in the sample.
The hepatic abscess was tapped and the pus sample was sent for microscopy and culture-sensitivity and turned out to be sterile.
