MRI shows very large left frontotemporal extra-axial mass with extracranial extension with osseous erosion and broad dural base, that enhances heterogeneously and restricts diffusion. Prominent blooming artifact demonstrated on Gradient Echo.

There is no vasogenic edema; however, the mass compresses the brain, with resulting midline shift.

Case Discussion

The mass was resected. The immunohistochemical test was positive for vimentin, desmin and EMA. Complemented by the histological examination, the diagnosis was of an anaplastic meningioma.
