Ankle lateral malleolus avulsion fracture with os subfibulare

Presentation

Twisted right ankle.

Patient Data

Age: 21-year-old
Gender: Male

Small bone fragment at the inferior portion of the lateral malleolus is consistent with an avulsed fracture. Os sub fibulare is noted (anatomical variant). No other fractures were seen. Local soft tissue was swollen.
