Presentation

Back pain and stiffness.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Female

There is typical appearance of bamboo spine with a single central radiodense line related to ossification of supraspinous and interspinous ligaments which is called dagger sign. Partial ankylosis is present at both sacroiliac joints.

Case Discussion

The findings of x-ray in a 50-year-old female with back pain and stiffness are consistent with ankylosing spondylitis.
